EXVAL in Fairport, NY seeks a Special Education Teaching Assistant/Associate Teacher per diem for district-wide openings. You will support licensed teachers, assist with implementing IEPs, adapt lessons, and help with daily living skills and behavior plans.

The role requires NYS certification, experience with disabilities, and ability to work across multiple locations. Per diem schedule and variable start dates for the 2026-27 year; compensation is hourly or daily as posted.

Qualifikationen

• NYS Teaching Assistant Certificate or NYS Teacher Certificate is required.
• Experience with behavioral/emotional and developmental disabilities preferred.
• College-level coursework in education is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide instructional services to students under the supervision of a licensed or certified teacher.
• Assist classroom teacher with implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Adapt and implement classroom lessons under teacher supervision.
• Work with staff to implement and monitor Individual Behavior Plans.
• Communicate effectively with the team including teachers, staff, and parents.
• Collect data and provide input to the behavioral specialist and classroom team.
• Assist students with daily living skills such as dressing and toileting.
• Escort students to and from activities outside the classroom.
• Plan and implement daily activities.
• Assist with record-keeping.
• Support students in communicating using adaptive devices.
• Attend staff meetings and training before and after school as needed.
• Attend trainings specific to students.
• Support students in work programs.
• Other duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.
