Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for successfully managing all aspects of daily operations at Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP) clinics located within the NYC DOE Public School system, including but not limited to revenue cycle, billing, regulatory compliance, process improvement and support to all divisions.

Essential Functions
  • Supervision of Administrative Supervisors (ASs), who provide on-site staff support and supervise day-to-day operations for selected schools.
  • Development of an action plan to achieve high rates of satisfaction in patient care, interaction with community, staff, and other school stakeholders at MSHP health centers.
  • Implementation of standardized processes/workflows with effective delegation and team development to ensure accessibility, quality of care, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with division directors, institutional administrators, and school communities to ensure a cooperative effort in department operations and objectives.
  • Management/supervision of MSHP Operations staff including hiring, evaluation & discipline.
  • Assure compliance with state and federal regulatory entities, both internal and external stakeholders including DOE Staff, DOH Staff, and TJC.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s required in related field, master’s preferred.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated managerial/supervisory skill with large and inter-disciplinary teams in a health care setting with an understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to healthcare.
  • Experience with EMR required (EPIC preferred), Workforce management, Microsoft Office Suite, and Medical Billing, required.
  • High degree of analytic ability to manage performance and quality improvement, financial, and human resources aspects of the position.
  • Outstanding organizational skills necessary to manage competing responsibilities and timetables.
  • Ability to delegate and effectively supervise and plan for the timely and successful completion of short- and long-term operational objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a large and diverse constituency, including senior hospital leaders, division leaders, and associates, NYCDOE administrators, government agencies, granting agencies and vendors.
  • Experience in setting up/managing Dental and/or Vision service Provision preferred.
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
