Job summary

Finders SA is seeking an in-house operational risk professional for a respected Swiss bank in Geneva. You will contribute to maintaining and developing the Bank's operational risk framework, aligning with FINMA rules and Swiss banking regulations, in a busy risk team.

You will review RCSA, perform tests of controls, collaborate across the three lines of defense, and support regulatory and risk assessments to strengthen internal controls in a dynamic, medium-sized environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline.
• Around 5 years of practical experience in Operational Risk, Internal Audit or a Control function.
• Strong understanding of Swiss banking regulations and FINMA requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Position

Perhaps you are in the Big 4 today covering risk and audit and looking to move into an in-house operational risk role within banking? Or you already have several years of experience in operational risk, internal audit or controls and are looking for a new challenge within a well-established banking environment?

This is an interesting 2nd line of defense opportunity within a busy, close-knit team, where you will contribute to the maintenance and development of the Bank's operational risk framework, ensuring alignment with Swiss banking regulations and FINMA requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defense, helping to identify, assess and mitigate operational risks and strengthen the Bank's internal control environment.

Essentially, your role will involve reviewing and challenging the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), performing tests of controls, contributing to relevant risk reviews and supporting the ongoing development of the operational risk framework.

Profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline
• Around 5 years of practical experience in Operational Risk, Internal Audit or a Control function
• Experience with operational risk management and the implementation of relevant regulatory requirements
• Good understanding of Swiss banking regulations and relevant FINMA requirements
• Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to assess issues, set priorities and work independently
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills; knowledge of Avaloq is an advantage
• Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders across the organisation
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• A hands-on, dynamic, roll-up-your-sleeves sort of person, used to working within a busy, medium-sized environment
• Fluent in English and very good command of French; German is an advantage
• Available to work full-time (no home office)
• Eligible or already in possession of a Swiss passport or Swiss work permit and happy to be based in the Geneva region.
