Job summary

Ovivo Ultra-Pure Water+ by Ecolab in Marin-Epagnier, Switzerland seeks an Operations & Maintenance Technician to service industrial water systems. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and support safety and quality standards.

You will work on commissioning, field rounds, calibration, and documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. French and English proficiency, and a valid driving licence are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operations and maintenance activities within industrial facilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and process control systems.
  • Ability to read technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • On-call rotation readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Support commissioning, start-up, installation, and modification of new equipment, upgrades, and plant improvements.
  • Perform routine field rounds, collecting operational and process data while identifying abnormalities.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on water treatment equipment and ancillary systems.
  • Monitor plant performance and support process optimization to achieve targets.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process issues for timely recovery.
  • Perform water quality sampling and field analysis.
  • Calibrate, inspect, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Use CMMS for work orders, planning, asset history, and reporting.
  • Participate in RCA investigations and continuous improvement.

We're looking for an Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our team in Marin-Epagnier, Switzerland. How You'll Make an Impact
  • Support commissioning, start‑up, installation, and modification of new equipment, upgrades, and plant improvements.
  • Perform routine field rounds, collecting operational and process data while identifying and reporting abnormalities.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on water treatment equipment and ancillary systems.
  • Monitor plant performance and support process optimization initiatives to achieve operational and quality targets.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process‑related issues, ensuring timely restoration of operations.
  • Perform water quality sampling and field analysis.
  • Carry out basic calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting activities on instrumentation and control systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and operational documentation.
  • Utilize CMMS systems for work order management, maintenance planning, asset history tracking, and reporting.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain work areas, workshops, equipment, and storage locations according to 5S principles.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, environmental regulations, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
  • Participate in an on‑call support rotation for customer sites when required.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical qualification or background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in operations and maintenance activities within industrial facilities, preferably in water or wastewater treatment plants.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, procedures, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Basic knowledge of instrumentation, automation, and process control systems.
  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high housekeeping standards and promoting a strong 5S culture.
  • Readiness to participate in an on‑call support rotation.
Working Conditions
  • Full‑time position based in Marin‑Epagnier, Switzerland.
  • 8.30 working hours per day, five days per week.
  • Mandatory on‑site presence: 08:30-12:00 and 13:30-17:00.
  • Occasional travel within Switzerland and Europe for training, meetings, reviews, and coordination activities.
  • French language proficiency: minimum B2 level.
  • English language proficiency: minimum B2 level.
  • Valid Category B driving licence.
