Aufgaben

• Deploy, configure, and upgrade OpenShift clusters across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor platform health and troubleshoot deployment and performance issues.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
• Support CI/CD and GitOps workflows with application teams.

About the Role

We are looking for an OpenShift Container Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and continuously improve our Red Hat OpenShift environment. You will collaborate with infrastructure, development, and security teams to provide a reliable, secure, and scalable platform for containerised applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and upgrade Red Hat OpenShift clusters across relevant on-premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor platform health, availability, capacity, and performance, and troubleshoot infrastructure and application deployment issues.
• Automate platform provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
• Support CI/CD and GitOps workflows in collaboration with application development teams.
• Implement and maintain platform security controls, including role-based access control, network policies, secrets management, and certificate management.
• Configure and support integrations with enterprise networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and logging services.
• Contribute to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, including regular validation.
• Support application teams with onboarding, deployment standards, and effective use of platform capabilities.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and platform standards.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Practical experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or Kubernetes-based environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux administration, ideally with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Understanding of container technologies and container image management.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including DNS, routing, load balancing, TLS, and network segmentation.
• Experience with scripting or automation using tools and languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with Git and automated software delivery practices.
• Understanding of infrastructure security, access management, and operational reliability.
• A structured approach to troubleshooting and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Clear communication skills in English, including the ability to produce technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OpenShift Operators, cluster lifecycle management, and platform upgrades.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Red Hat OpenShift GitOps.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible Automation Platform, or comparable automation tools.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and centralised logging platforms.
• Exposure to enterprise storage, persistent volumes, and backup and recovery solutions for Kubernetes.
• Experience operating container platforms in public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Relevant Red Hat or Kubernetes certifications are an advantage.
