Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano invites applications for a Professor (open rank) in Data Science within the Faculty of Informatics. The position aims to build a new Data Science initiative alongside two strong ML groups led by Schmidhuber and Bronstein.

The Faculty of Informatics is seeking to fill a position as Professor (open rank) in Data Science. Applications received by September 1, 2017 will be given priority. Targeted starting date for the position is February 1, 2018. More information can be found here

Together with these colleagues we are building a new Data Science initiative.

Salary is highly competitive.
Each professor is entitled to two PhD students supported by the University.
The Swiss National Science Foundation is very rich in terms of competitive research founding.
