Borobotics AG in Winterthur is developing a compact geothermal drilling robot. This internship offers hands-on work in prototype construction, lab testing, and multidisciplinary design, with collaboration across suppliers and teams in a startup environment.
Ideal candidates hold a mechanical engineering degree and are proficient in CAD tools such as Solidworks or Catia, with fluent German and good English. You will contribute to product development and advance the startup's mission to accelerate
We have invented a new method for geothermal drilling suitable for small spaces such as basements or densely populated areas. Our entire drilling mechanism is inside a 2 m by 9cm tube that autonomously drills the borehole similar to how an earthworm would move through the ground. This drilling principle is not only very energy-efficient, but also controllable in its movement and trackable as it automatically creates a digital twin of the borehole on its way down. To develop our robot further we are now looking for your skills and enthusiasm!
