They operate modern, computer-controlled drilling, turning, and milling machines, as well as many other machine tools. They monitor and optimise the manufacturing processes. They assemble devices, apparatuses, machines, or systems and carry out necessary adjustment, regulation, and testing tasks. Working in a team with various specialists, they execute projects and create technical documents.
