Zusammenfassung

Big Science Sweden in Geneva is seeking an Applied Physicist / Software Engineer to contribute to detector simulation work for HEP experiments. This role requires a background in Particle Physics or Software Engineering, with either a Master’s degree and 2 to 6 years of experience, or a PhD with up to 3 years of experience. The successful candidate will ensure quality and flexibility of simulation code and take charge of optimizing computing environments for production samples needed by LHCb.

We are looking for an Applied Physicist / Software Engineer with broad knowledge of detector simulation for HEP experiments and related software to participate in the ongoing program of work, ensure consistency, reliability, and flexibility of the simulation code and take the lead in shaping how to optimally exploit an heterogeneous computing environment for production of the diverse samples needed by LHCb.

• You have a professional background in Particle Physics / Software Engineering (or a related field) and have either:
  • aMaster's degree with 2 to 6 yearsof post-graduation professional experience;
  • or aPhD with no more than 3 yearsof post-graduation professional experience.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
