Job summary

Flowable is seeking a Legal Advisor to shape regulatory strategy for its Agentic Case Platform, guiding data privacy, governance, and AI compliance across Switzerland and international teams. You will negotiate complex contracts, lead DPO-related activities, and develop scalable policies while partnering with Sales, Marketing, HR, and Finance.

The role requires in-house or law firm experience, legal acumen in GDPR/DORA/AI Act, and a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• Completed Law Degree (Master of Law or Swiss law diploma)
• Solid knowledge in commercial/contract, data protection/privacy, and IT law
• Proven experience in compliance (GDPR, DORA, AI Act, NIS 2)
• Minimum 6 years of in-house or law firm experience
• Affinity for IT and processes and AI
• Strong project management skills, analytical and solution-oriented
• Team-oriented with service mindset
• Entrepreneurial thinking with a hands-on mentality
• Native in German; business fluent in English; other languages a plus
• Based in Switzerland; able to work across European and US time zones with 2–3 days office presence per week

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review and negotiate software licensing, services, data protection, and IP agreements for internal clients.
• Support the Legal Team on data protection, compliance, organizational, and administrative issues.
• Independently manage international data protection and compliance matters, pro-actively addressing issues.
• Create, update and implement policies, playbooks, processes and guidelines.
• Advise cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, HR and Finance.
• Manage corporate housekeeping, the insurance portfolio and governance with authorities.

As AI and automation reshape enterprise operations, including legal departments, we are looking for a tech-native, forward-thinking legal professional to guide our growth. You will work at the intersection of cutting‑edge technology and law, solving real business challenges with today’s tools while helping define best practices for responsible AI deployment and data/privacy governance.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, review and negotiate agreements in a digital environment with and for the respective internal clients (in particular in the fields of software licensing, services, suppliers, data protection/privacy, employment, corporate, and intellectual property law)
• Support the Legal Team in all legal, data protection/privacy, compliance, organizational, and administrative issues
• Independently manage complex international data protection/privacy (DPO, ROPA experience) and compliance matters (monitoring and reviewing) and lead in these fields, anticipating issues before they escalate
• Create, update and implement practical policies, playbooks, processes and guidelines as required (directives, internal and external regulations, etc.)
• Partner with and provide clear, practical advice to our cross‑functional teams including management (notably Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance) and all Flowable companies from Switzerland and abroad
• Manage corporate housekeeping, the insurance portfolio and contact with authorities in Switzerland and abroad

Qualifications:

• Completed Law Degree (Master of Law or Swiss law diploma)
• Solid knowledge in commercial/contract, data protection/privacy, and IT law
• Proven experience in compliance (ideally in the IT field re. GDPR, DORA, AI Act, NIS 2 etc.)
• Minimum 6 years of in‑house or law firm experience
• Affinity for IT and Processes and working with AI
• Strong project management skills, analytical, solution‑oriented and motivated by a fast‑paced and multicultural environment
• High ability to work in a team and a pronounced service orientation
• Entrepreneurial thinking combined with pragmatism and a hands‑on mentality
• Native in German, business fluent in English, further language skills are an asset (knowledge of Spanish is an advantage)
• Based in Switzerland (Swiss German /Zurich area preferred), ability to work across European and US time zones with 2-3 days office presence per week
