Job summary

Fusionality in Lausanne is building the measurement, simulation and control stack for next-generation fusion reactors. We seek a Data / ML Engineer who turns messy experimental data into clean, labeled datasets and enables real-time monitoring of high-temperature plasmas.

You will design data pipelines (HDF5/Parquet), apply time-series ML (PyTorch/JAX), and work with physicists and engineers to deploy models and validate datasets.

Qualifications

• Experience building data pipelines for large scientific/industrial time-series data.
• ML on time-series data using PyTorch or JAX with anomaly/event detection.
• Strong software engineering habits including tests and data versioning.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and run pipelines that bring fusion data into high quality datasets.
• Develop ML-assisted labelling and event detection (disruptions, MHD, faults).
• Own data quality, provenance, calibration metadata and automated validation.
• Collaborate with physicists to validate datasets and labels.
• Work with computational scientists and control engineers and customers on data integration.
