The University of Zurich is offering a laboratory technician position within the Institute of Oral Biology in Zurich. The role focuses on supporting several research projects with hands-on work in molecular biology, cell culture, histology and animal studies.

The appointment is initially 6 months at 50% employment, with potential extension up to 12 months. Some activities will take place at the Center for Dental Medicine in Zurich and in the LASC animal facility in Schlieren.

Formación

• Completed training as a laboratory technician or equivalent qualification in life sciences.
• LTK1 or equivalent certification for animal experimentation.
• Practical experience in molecular biology, especially DNA and RNA isolation and RT-qPCR.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture (human and/or mouse cells).
• Experience with histological processing and staining techniques.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Molecular biology tasks including RNA/DNA isolation and RT-qPCR.
• Molecular biology, histology and staining work on tissue samples.
• Cell culture maintenance and experimental work with human and mouse cells.
• Histology: tissue processing and histological staining.
• General laboratory support and organization of experimental samples.
