As a Junior Research Assistant in Packaging Safety at Nestlé Research, your mission is to develop, validate and apply analytical methods for novel coated paper packaging materials.   • Contribute to the development of robust analytical methods that help assess the safety and performance of innovative packaging materials.
  • Perform packaging characterization analyses that support reliable research outcomes and project decisions.
  • Consolidating and interpreting data and writing clear analytical documentation that enables quality, research and project teams to act with confidence.
  • Participate in transferring analytical methods to operations and supporting end users throughout the method lifecycle.
  • Contributing to quality, safety and knowledge-sharing practices that help teams work consistently across sites.
  • Engage with internal and external partners to stay at the forefront of packaging safety science and analytical technologies.
What will make you successful
  • Master’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry or a related scientific discipline, combined with a strong interest in analytical sciences, packaging safety and sustainable packaging technologies.
  • Applying knowledge of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry or material characterization.
  • Using hands‑on laboratory experience from academic projects, internships or research activities to deliver reliable experimental work.
  • Collaborating with curiosity, attention to detail and strong data analysis, problem-solving and scientific reporting skills.
  • Working proficiency in English and French.
  • Bringing collaboration, fresh thinking, bold questions, respect, and a positive, wellbeing-oriented mindset.
