EthonAI AG in Zürich is seeking a UI designer to join a small design team, focusing on building screens, components and flows for our industrial AI platform, and growing our design system.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and product teams to ship end-to-end designs that can be implemented by developers. You’ll also contribute to marketing visuals and customer-facing materials as needed.

WHAT IS THIS JOB ABOUT?

You’ll join our small design team and work directly with our engineers. At first you’ll focus on UI: building screens, components and flows for our platform, and helping our design system grow. Over time you’ll take on larger parts of the product end to end.

This is what you’ll do:

• Turn flows and concepts into detailed production-ready screens.

• Create and maintain components in Figma, keep them in sync with what’s in code, and notice when patterns start to drift.

• Pair with developers, review builds, and make quick trade-offs when something doesn’t fit the sprint. Your designs ship; you don’t just hand off Figma files.

• When a shortcut hurts the experience, you say so, explain why, and propose an alternative. And you know when good enough is good enough.

• Join customer calls and factory visits, test ideas with our forward deployed engineers, and bring what you learn back into the product.

• Help where a startup needs it: website updates, sales decks and marketing visuals now and then.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

You don’t need to have done it all. We can teach you manufacturing, our product, and a lot about designing complex B2B software. We can’t teach you to care about the details, or to be curious about how things work.

Must-haves:

• You’re fluent in English and comfortable with changing priorities. You know when to be scrappy and when to be thorough.

• You have 1–3 years of professional experience designing digital products. Internships and working-student roles count if you shipped real work.

• You have strong UI craft and have hands‑on experience with a design system.

• You’re fluent in Figma (components, variants, auto layout, variables) and comfortable using AI tools for quick iterations and prototypes.

• You enjoy working closely with developers and understand enough about frontend to design things that can be built.

• You can explain and stand behind your design decisions, and you change your mind when someone has a better argument.

• You’re curious about users, technology and how things get made, and you actively look for feedback so you can grow.

Bonus:

• Experience with B2B SaaS, dashboards or data‑heavy products
