ITech Consult AG is seeking an experienced Java Developer who will also take on a leadership role in Bern and surrounding regions. The role focuses on backend development with Java and Spring, frontend with Angular, and building scalable, well-tested architectures.

You will mentor peers, drive architectural decisions, and enhance test automation across web UIs, mobile apps, and APIs. A strong background in Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD is expected, with fluent German and good English.

Our client is looking for an experienced Java Developer who is also comfortable taking on a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• As a Lead Developer, work with the team to implement requirements and ensure high software quality through clean code, sustainable architectural principles, and effective test coverage.
• Design and optimise the system solution for end-to-end test automation in complex software architectures.
• Lead the development of critical software components, systems, and features to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Mentor colleagues, share technical knowledge, and contribute to the team's professional development.
• Propose technological improvements and tools, and actively participate in architectural and technology decisions.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in agile software development using Java and Angular.
• Experience leading and mentoring developers and sharing technical knowledge within teams.
• Completed higher education or advanced training in Computer Science (HF, FH, University/ETH).
• Strong experience in developing test automation frameworks, such as Appium, Selenium, or Playwright.
• In-depth knowledge of software architecture. Experience in test automation for web UIs, mobile apps, and APIs is an advantage.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines, as well as developing, analysing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Very good German and good English language skills.
