Job summary

Kolb Distribution AG in Hedingen (ZH) seeks an IT Infrastructure Specialist to ensure stable, secure, and compliant local operations and to support other European sites. You will report to the Lead EU IT Service Management and act as the local IT infrastructure representative to KLK Group IT in Malaysia, delivering hands‑on, structured, service‑oriented support.

You will manage servers, networks, backups, security, and GMP compliance within your area, collaborate with vendors and application

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent IT qualification with further training.
• 3–5 years in IT infrastructure operations, including vendor management.
• Solid hands‑on experience with Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, patch management, virtualization, backup, networking, and security.
• Experience with GMP‑regulated environments and IT compliance is a plus.
• Very good German and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain local IT infrastructure (servers, domain/DHCP/DNS, PABX, backups).
• Manage network, firewall, and IT security; ensure availability and reliability.
• Provide 2nd/1st level support and coordinate with vendors and application teams.
• Manage IT assets, licenses, and documentation; participate in IT projects.
• Ensure compliance with KLK Group IT standards and GMP requirements.

Job summary

In this position, you will be responsible for the stable, secure and compliant operation of the local IT infrastructure at our Hedingen site and support our other European sites. Reporting to the Lead EU IT Service Management, you will act as KLK Kolb’s local IT infrastructure representative towards KLK Group IT in Malaysia and ensure seamless daily IT operations. The role requires a hands‑on, structured and service‑oriented way of working.

Main tasks

• Operating and maintaining servers (domain/DHCP/DNS, weighbridge application and database, door access control, IT backup, LIMS, DMS) and the PABX system
• Ensuring backup and recovery of company data and systems, and managing Windows updates for PCs and servers (WSUS or global tools)
• Managing the network and firewall infrastructure, including troubleshooting and related guides
• Supporting local business systems and interfaces with application teams and vendors to ensure availability, connectivity and reliable integration
• Providing second‑level support and first‑level back‑up in close collaboration with the IT Service Management Specialist, including installations, repairs, modifications and preventive maintenance of IT systems, supporting other infrastructure areas and escalating to vendors where needed
• Managing IT vendors, IT assets, communication systems, software licences and IT supplies
• Reviewing and updating documentation (specifications, asset records, network diagrams and schematics) and participating in IT projects
• Adopting and supporting KLK Group IT standards, tools, platforms and initiatives in infrastructure, cybersecurity, standardisation and compliance
• Ensuring GMP compliance within your area of responsibility (proper signing, deviation reporting, change control) and supporting compliance, security and audit activities

Special requirements

• Willingness to take part in the on‑call duty rotation
• Occasional travel to our EU sites (if required)
• Mutual deputising with the IT Service Management Specialist

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business informatics, or an IT apprenticeship (e.g. Informatiker/in EFZ) with further training (e.g. HF), or a comparable qualification
• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, ideally in an industrial or production environment, including the management of IT vendors and service providers
• Solid hands‑on expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policies, patch management (WSUS or similar), virtualisation (VMware, Hyper‑V), backup/recovery, basic SQL administration, networking (LAN/WAN, VLAN, Wi‑Fi), firewalls and IT security
• An advantage: knowledge of telephony/PABX, Microsoft 365, ERP systems (SAP R3) and their interfaces; relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet); experience in a GMP‑regulated environment (e.g. computerised system validation, change control)
• Very good command of German and English
• Team player with strong communication skills in a multicultural environment; structured, reliable, service‑oriented, flexible and resilient, with initiative and a willingness to learn
