Job summary

Forty2 AG in Geneva is seeking an experienced IT Consultant – Enterprise Solution Architect to drive a strategic technology transformation for a leading Swiss private banking client.

The role focuses on designing scalable, secure IT solutions, aligning business objectives with technology strategy, and guiding development teams. Fluency in French and English is mandatory, and TOGAF or cloud certifications are beneficial. You will collaborate across Security, Data Governance and IT Delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Enterprise/ Solution Architecture or Technical Leadership.
• 5–10 years in Swiss or international private banking, Wealth/Asset Management, Trading, Treasury or Back-Office operations.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, reliable and secure IT solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Lead architecture modernisation and adoption of DevOps and cloud technologies.
• Provide technical and functional guidance to development teams and project managers.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Consultant – Enterprise Solution Architect to join our consulting team and support a strategic technology transformation programme for one of our leading clients in the Swiss private banking sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing scalable, secure and sustainable IT solutions while ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology strategy and enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable, reliable and secure IT solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Lead architecture modernisation and support the adoption of DevOps, private and public cloud technologies.
• Provide technical and functional guidance to development teams and project managers.
• Collaborate with Security, Data Governance, Compliance, Legal, Operational Resilience and IT Delivery teams.
• Ensure alignment between solution architecture, target functional architecture and enterprise technology strategy.
• Maintain architecture documentation and repositories using Confluence, My-Carto and related tools.
• Drive architecture governance, standardisation and simplification.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture or Technical Leadership.
• 5–10 years of experience in Swiss or international private banking, particularly Wealth Management, Asset Management, Trading, Treasury and Back-Office operations.
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Solution Architect.

Technical Expertise

• Programming Languages – Mandatory: Proficiency in all five technologies: Java, .NET, JavaScript, Vue.js and Python.
• Enterprise Architecture: Service-oriented architecture, APIs, enterprise service bus and system integration.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: VMware ESX, vCenter, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Microsoft Cloud.
• Security: Security by Design and Zero Trust principles.
• Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• DevOps & Methodologies: Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub Copilot, Agile and Waterfall.
• Emerging Technologies: AI, Machine Learning and Blockchain.

Leadership & Communication

• Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on architecture ownership and simplification.
