Qualifications

• Du bist aktuell in einem Master-Studium eingeschrieben oder hast innerhalb der letzten 12 Monate vor Startabschluss einen Bachelor abgeschlossen.
• Praktische Erfahrung in mindestens einer Programmiersprache wie Python, TypeScript oder R.
• Erfahrung in der Entwicklung einer Anwendung, analytischen Lösung oder größerer Softwareprojekte.
• Gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, fließendes Englisch; Deutsch ist von Vorteil.
• Grundkenntnisse in SQL und im Umgang mit Daten; Interesse an moderner Softwareentwicklung/AI.
• Hands‑on Erfahrung mit Git, CI/CD oder automatisiertem Testen.

Responsibilities

• Du arbeitest mit Fachexperten zusammen, um Herausforderungen zu verstehen, Anforderungen zu definieren und Erfolg zu messen.
• Du entwirfst und baust Dashboards, analytische Apps und leichte Web-Apps mit Python, TypeScript, React oder FastAPI.

Die Position

As a Digital & Analytics Intern at Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, you will join an innovative team solving operational challenges through data, digital products, and AI. Working in a hybrid model, you will contribute across the entire solution lifecycle—from problem identification to prototyping and adoption. Designed for candidates with backgrounds in Data Engineering or Data Analytics & Science, your assignment will be tailored to your strengths and project needs (expertise in every listed technology is not required).

This internship position is located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, with a hybrid working model.

The Opportunity:

• You work with business and process experts to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities, translate them into clear requirements and define what success looks like.
• You design and build dashboards, analytical applications and lightweight web applications using technologies such as Python, R or TypeScript, with frameworks such as React or FastAPI where appropriate.
• You develop and improve reliable data pipelines and transformations using technologies such as SQL, Airflow and dbt.
• You contribute to automation, DevOps and CI/CD practices, including testing, deployment and maintainable development workflows.
• You contribute to solution concepts, prototypes and feasibility assessments together with experienced team members and stakeholders.
• You contribute to data governance, data quality and digital engineering standards to support reliable and compliant solutions.
• You communicate technical concepts and findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through documentation, demos and presentations.
• You work with Product Care data across areas such as supply, quality and engineering, improving data availability and supporting better operational decisions.

Who You Are:

• You are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or have completed a Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months prior to the internship start date, preferably in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• You bring practical experience with at least one programming language such as Python, TypeScript, or R, alongside basic experience with SQL and working with data.
• You bring experience developing an application, analytical solution, or substantial software project through your studies, work experience, or personal projects.
• You possess strong communication skills and fluent English, enabling effective collaboration. German is nice to have.
• You possess a high level of problem‑solving competence, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently, learn quickly, and collaborate effectively with others.
• An understanding of basic software‑design principles and an interest in modern software engineering and AI is considered an asset.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, CI/CD, or automated testing, and exposure to technologies like React, FastAPI, dbt, or Airflow is preferred. Experience with AI agents, data visualization, or building data products is nice to have.

Additional information:

• Start Date & Duration: The preferred start date for the internship is January 2027 with a duration of 12 months or upon discussion.
• Workload: Flexible working options from 80% to 100% full-time equivalent are open for discussion.
• Thesis Note: Please note that the internship cannot be combined with a university thesis.
