Job summary

Roche Basel is offering a 12-month Internship in Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT). You will support process performance with analytical method comparability, oxidation studies, method transfers, and documentation, under GMP-like conditions.

We seek a Master's student or recent graduate in biochemistry, biotechnology, or chemical engineering who is fluent in English and German. Non-EU/EFTA nationals must provide university confirmation that an internship is mandatory for studies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree completed in the last 12 months in biochemistry, biotechnology, or chemical engineering, or enrolled in a Master’s program.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Strong analytical chemistry skills including NMR and quantitative assays; knowledge of protein oxidation.

Responsibilities

• Support MSAT process performance: Analytical Method Comparability, validate repeatability of a DMAc peroxide dilution series using NMR.
• Oxidation Impact Study: design experimental plan and assist scale‑down model to assess methionine 255 oxidation under Kadcyla manufacturing conditions.
• QC Method Transfer: define peroxide threshold and support transfer to Quality Control.
• Final Handover: provide study plans, final reports, and SOP-compliant documentation for the DMAc peroxide evaluation.
• Support for digitalization initiatives, e.g., PM parameter report.

Join Roche, where every voice matters.### ### The Position### The Opportunity You will support MSAT process performance with the following tasks. * Analytical Method Comparability: Determine and validate the repeatability of a DMAc peroxide concentration dilution series using NMR.* Oxidation Impact Study: Analyze existing study data to design an experimental plan and assist in executing the scale-down model to assess methionine 255 oxidation under Kadcyla manufacturing conditions.* QC Method Transfer: Apply findings from the oxidation study to define a formal peroxide threshold, and support the transfer to Quality Control.* Final Handover: Provide comprehensive study plans, final reports, and SOP-compliant documentation covering the entire DMAc peroxide evaluation.* Support for digitalization initiatives, e.g., the implementation of a PM parameter report. ### Who You Are * You hold a Master's degree (completed in the last 12 months) in biochemistry, biotechnology, or chemical engineering; or are currently enrolled in your Master’s programme.* You speak fluent English and German.* Strong familiarity with analytical chemistry techniques (including NMR and quantitative assays) as well as protein degradation mechanisms (such as oxidation).* Please note that due to cantonal regulation reasons, NON-EU/-EFTA nationals need to provide a confirmation by their university stating that an internship is mandatory for their studies.
