Baseline Robotics is hiring a role involving assembling robotic stations from arms, frames, cameras and on-board compute, followed by calibration and bench tests to ensure reliable task execution.

The candidate should have hands-on wiring/benchwork, CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) for fixtures and mounts, and Python to script tests and log sensor data. Location is Zurich on-site for 5 days a week, 3–6 months contract, CHF 3,000 monthly.

Open source revolutionised how we write software, but its impact on robotics stays limited due to expensive hardware accessible only to well‑funded labs. We run that hardware as shared infrastructure for the broader community, billed only for active compute. For a given task, policies are evaluated under similar conditions, giving researchers common ground for fair comparisons.

In this role you will

• Assemble each station from arms, frames, cameras, and on‑station compute into one working rig.
• Bring each station up through calibration and bench tests until a task runs reliably.
• Design and fabricate fixtures, mounts, and reset mechanisms keeping tasks repeatable between runs.
• Track fleet failures (worn parts, loose connectors, drifting cameras) and fold fixes back in.

What we hope you’ll bring

• Experience with physical hardware.
• Hands‑on experience with wiring, benchwork, and mechanical drawings.
• CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) for fixtures, mounts, grippers, etc.
