Job summary

Ovivo UltraPure Water by Ecolab is seeking an Innovation Engineer in Nanotechnology/ Physics/ Materials Science/ Chemistry to drive innovative projects involving advanced characterization, experimental design, physical measurements, and data analysis.

You will own state-of-the-art analytical instruments, develop testing methodologies and SOPs, automate data collection with Python, and contribute to new technologies and products.

Qualifications

• MSc in Physics, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, or Chemistry.
• Experience with surface characterization techniques such as Optical Microscopy, SEM, and AFM.
• Python for data analysis and automation.
• Cleanroom experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• EU or Swiss citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit.

• Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings.

We are looking for an Innovation Engineer in Nanotechnology/ Physics/ Materials Science/ Chemistry to drive innovative projects involving advanced characterization techniques, experimental design, physical measurements, and data analysis. You will take ownership of state-of-the-art analytical instruments, develop testing methodologies and SOPs, automate data collection and analysis using Python, and contribute to the development of new technologies and products.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Lead physical and chemical characterization of materials, surfaces, liquids, and semiconductor-related samples
• Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings
• Develop and optimize analytical methods, SOPs, and automated data-analysis tools
• Support innovation projects focused on industrial water purification and water quality monitoring
• Contribute to Quality Control activities
• Collaborate with international suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations

What You'll Bring

• MSc in Physics, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field
• Experience with surface characterization techniques such as Optical Microscopy, SEM, and AFM
• Knowledge of semiconductor tools, wafer handling, and wafer quality analysis
• Experience working in cleanroom environments
• Familiarity with Quality Control processes and laboratory operations
• Python programming skills for data analysis and automation are highly desirable
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proactive, hands‑on, and team-oriented mindset
• Fluency in English; German and/or French are a plus
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%)
• EU or Swiss citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit
