Position Summary

Chiquita is seeking an Indirect Tax Senior Analyst to support the management of European indirect tax matters. Reporting to the Tax Director, this role is an individual contributor position with responsibility for VAT compliance and technical support across multiple European jurisdictions. This position is 100% on-site, based in Etoy, Switzerland.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate European VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat, and related filings, both in-house and with external advisors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate VAT reporting in compliance with EU VAT Directive and local legislation.
  • Provide technical VAT analysis on cross-border transactions, including intra-EU supplies, chain transactions, triangulation, and services.
  • Support VAT treatment of intercompany transactions, logistics flows, and supply chain structures.
  • Monitor VAT legislation developments and assess potential impacts on the business.
  • Support VAT audits, tax authority queries, and documentation requests.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of VAT processes, controls, and internal documentation.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in indirect tax / VAT, gained in a multinational group, Big 4, or tax advisory environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of European VAT legislation and practical application to cross-border business models.
  • Experience working with ERP systems in an in-house environment.
  • Ability to manage both in-house VAT processes and relationships with external service providers.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
