Job summary

GXP CONSULTING Switzerland is seeking an experienced HVAC engineer to lead concept development and own HVAC systems across the full project lifecycle in a regulated production environment.

You will collaborate with process, automation, electrical, piping, architecture, EHS and fire safety teams, steering contractors and ensuring compliance with GMP and cleanroom standards. Fluent German and strong English required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of engineering, project execution or operations experience.
• Solid hands-on HVAC expertise with codes, standards and regulations in pharma/industrial settings.
• Exposure to GMP and cleanroom environments is a strong plus.
• Experience with commissioning and integrated testing.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Autonomous, structured and rigorous in complex multidisciplinary settings.
• Languages: fluent German; working English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shape HVAC concepts and technical requirements for new builds and upgrades.
• Act as the technical owner of HVAC systems through the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with process, automation, electrical, mechanical, architecture, EHS and fire safety teams and external firms.
• Steer contractors and suppliers on site to meet budget, timeline and quality targets.
• Participate in 3D model reviews and resolve interfaces and clashes.
• Drive commissioning, tests and acceptance of HVAC installations with contractors and stakeholders.
• Compile and validate as-built documentation and ensure smooth handover to operations.
• Contribute to other CAPEX topics as needed.

As part of a CAPEX engineering team, you’ll be the HVAC reference on major investment projects in a regulated production environment, from concept through handover to operations.

What you’ll do

• Help shape HVAC concepts and technical requirements for new builds and upgrades
• Act as the technical owner of HVAC systems throughout the project lifecycle
• Work hand in hand with process, automation/electrical, mechanical/piping, architecture, EHS and fire safety teams, as well as external engineering firms
• Steer HVAC contractors and suppliers on site, ensuring budget, timeline, quality and regulatory targets are met
• Take part in 3D model reviews and interdisciplinary coordination to resolve interfaces and clashes
• Drive commissioning, functional tests and acceptance of HVAC installations alongside contractors and stakeholders
• Compile and validate as-built documentation and secure a smooth handover to operations
• Contribute to other engineering topics within the CAPEX team when needed

Your profile

• Engineering degree (Bachelor/Master) in mechanical, process, chemical engineering or similar
• 5 to 10 years of experience in engineering, project execution or operations within pharma, biotech, chemical or industrial manufacturing
• Solid hands-on HVAC expertise, including applicable codes, standards and regulations
• Exposure to GMP and cleanroom environments is a strong plus
• Proven experience with commissioning and integrated testing
• Confident managing contractors and multiple stakeholders
• Autonomous, structured and rigorous, comfortable in complex multidisciplinary settings
• Languages: fluent German (mandatory), working English; French is a plus
