Job summary

Zeppelin Group in Steinhausen, Switzerland, seeks a Head of Procurement Excellence to drive strategic development, standardization, and continuous improvement of procurement across the organization.

Responsibilities include governance, data-driven decisions, and capability building, with approx. 20-30% international travel. You will lead system implementations, KPI frameworks, and global reporting standards while collaborating across group countries and SBUs.

Qualifications

• A degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Business, Engineering, Economics or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive relevant professional experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or procurement excellence.
• Proven track record in purchasing strategy, controlling, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience in managing cross-functional or global projects and strong project management and change-management capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Initial leadership experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with deep understanding of procurement processes, KPIs, and governance.
• Experience with procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer).
• Business fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and continuous development of procurement systems and drive global roll-out and adoption across all Group countries and SBUs.
• Develop, refine and implement strategies and standards in Group’s procurement focusing on efficiency, transparency, and sustainability.
• Drive the implementation of sustainable procurement strategies with conviction and expertise (ESG criteria, due diligence act).
• Manage complex projects related to procurement strategies, governance, and tool landscapes; serve as a key contact for the global procurement community.
• Drive innovation in procurement and governance within the global network.
• Document processes, develop corporate standards, and oversee their implementation across subsidiaries.
• Purchasing Controlling & Data Analytics – define and implement KPI framework; ensure high-quality data collection.
• Establish global reporting standards and dashboards (savings, performance, ESG metrics) and drive analytics-based decisions.

About The Role

The Head of Procurement Excellence is responsible for driving strategic development, standardization, and continuous improvement of procurement across the organization. This role focuses on purchasing strategy, governance, data-driven decision-making, and capability building.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and continuous development of procurement systems (e.g. P2P suites, sourcing tools) and drive global roll-out and adoption across all Group countries and SBUs
• Develop, refine and implement strategies and standards in Group’s procurement - always with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and sustainability
• Drive the implementation of sustainable procurement strategies (e.g., based on ESG criteria and the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act) with conviction and expertise
• Manage complex projects related to procurement strategies, governance, and tool landscapes, and serve as a key point of contact for our global procurement community
• Dive innovation in procurement and actively assume governance responsibilities within the global network
• Document processes, develop corporate standards, and oversee their implementation across our global subsidiaries
• Purchasing Controlling & Data Analytics - Define and implement a comprehensive KPI framework for procurement and ensure consistent, high-quality data collection across all business units
• Establish global reporting standards and dashboards (e.g., savings, performance, ESG metrics) and drive data transparency and analytics-based decision-making

What We Are Looking For
