Job summary

Our client in Zürich-Altstetten seeks a Team Leader High Voltage Laboratory to guide a laboratory of approximately 15 FTE while overseeing high-voltage testing operations and safety standards. You will drive continuous improvement and collaborate across planning, QA, logistics, and production.

The role demands a technical apprenticeship with a Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, plus several years in a leadership capacity in HV testing or related fields.

Qualifications

• Technical apprenticeship plus a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Several years in a leadership role (high-voltage testing, insulation tech, or power engineering).
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems, generators, and automation.
• Experience with Lean Management, Six Sigma, and process optimization.
• Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams.
• Data-driven problem solving and high safety awareness.
• Excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills.
• Fluent in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the laboratory team (approx. 15 FTE) with resource planning.
• Main contact for high-voltage testing at Zürich-Altstetten site.
• Ensure safety and quality standards (IEC / IEEE).
• Analyze and improve production and business processes for safety, quality, productivity.
• Maintain high output through reliable HV testing procedures (AC, DC, impulse, partial discharge).
• Identify and integrate new technologies and CIP best practices.
• Collaborate with planning, QA, logistics, and other production departments.
• Define work and maintenance instructions & ensure ISO, Lean, Six Sigma compliance.
• Define, monitor, and report KPIs to the Operations Manager.
• Ensure compliance with internal/external regs and guidelines as People Manager.
