Zusammenfassung

CERN is seeking a hardware support engineer to run a dedicated infrastructure for accelerating computing tech development. You will operate the computing cluster, benchmark hardware, and support users, with a focus on accelerator cards like enterprise GPUs.

You will maintain servers, perform upgrades, and participate in commissioning for the Next Generation Triggers project. Candidates should have BIOS/UEFI, x86/Arm, virtualization, memory, and GPU experience, plus Linux, shell, and Python

Qualifikationen

• Experience with BIOS/UEFI, x86/Arm architectures, virtualization, memory and GPU computing.
• Experience with management/monitoring protocols IPMI/Redfish, SMART and SNMP.
• Extensive Linux and shell scripting skills, with Python experience.

Aufgaben

• Ensure smooth, reliable operation of the computing infrastructure.
• Participate in commissioning of new systems for the Next Generation Triggers project.
• Run hardware evaluation, benchmarking, and provide user support.
• Deploy and operate systems with accelerator cards such as enterprise GPUs.
• Maintain servers with regular maintenance and upgrades.
