Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Hardware Development Engineer for our Sensing, Safety and Industrial Components Business.

In this role, you design and develop electromechanical components, primarily in the area of low‑voltage switching and protection devices, as well as related accessories. You contribute to technical investigations and feasibility studies for future products and solutions.

You report to a local engineering manager but work in an international environment and within international development teams.

You work on complex technical challenges that require in-depth analysis and sound engineering judgment. You select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve robust results.

You take ownership for a complete product, assembly, or sub‑assembly. You are able to see the big picture and understand the interfaces to other systems, products, assemblies, or sub‑assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of electromechanical switchgear and control gear and dedicated accessories in accordance with relevant international standards and internal procedures from feasibility to serial production readiness.
• Further development of legacy products to meet international standards and customer requirements
• Establish, analyze, and select new product concepts
• Plan and execute development tests with local test team
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Support industrialization with production equipment and test equipment
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and methods for specific area of expertise
• Perform and support benchmarking activities of competitors products

Our Requirements

• University degree in mechanical design, or equivalent
• Several years of experience in the development of mechanical products (plastic and metal parts)
• Skilled in CAD and PLM Systems (CREO and Windchill are advantageous)
• systems (CREO favorable)
• Familiarity with international product standards such as UL, IEC, etc.
• Experience working in international teams (also remote)
• Fluent in writing and speaking in either German or English (both preferred)
• Cultural awareness/sensitivity in dealings across regions/geographies
• High level of resiliency
• Good communication skills across all levels
• Take job relevant decisions in time
• Comfortable working in an international team environment with people from different cultures, languages and locations

Stellenbeschreibung

Wir suchen eine erfahrene Entwicklungsingenieurin oder einen erfahrenen Entwicklungsingenieur für unseren Geschäftsbereich Sensing, Safety and Industrial Components.

In dieser Position entwickelst und konstruierst du elektromechanische Komponenten, hauptsächlich im Bereich der Niederspannungsschalt- und Schutzgeräte sowie dazugehöriges Zubehör. Du bist beteiligt an Technischen Untersuchungen und Machbarkeitsstudien für künftige Produkte und Lösungen.

Du bearbeitest komplexe Fragestellungen, deren Analyse eine fundierte Bewertung verschiedener Faktoren erfordert. Dabei triffst du fundierte Entscheidungen bei der Auswahl von Methoden, Techniken und Bewertungskriterien zur Erzielung der gewünschten Ergebnisse. Du trägst die Verantwortung für ein komplettes Produkt, eine Baugruppe oder eine Unterbaugruppe und behältst den Überblick und verstehst die Schnittstellen zu anderen Systemen, Produkten, Baugruppen oder Unterbaugruppen.

Du berichtest an einen lokalen Engineering Manager und arbeitest in einem internationalen Umfeld und in internationalen Entwicklungsteams.

Aufgaben

• Entwicklung von elektromechanischen Schalt- und Schutzgeräten sowie Zubehör gemäß relevanten internationalen Normen und internen Vorgaben von der Machbarkeit bis zur Serienreife.
• Weiterentwicklung bestehender Produkte zur Erfüllung internationaler Normen und Kundenanforderungen
• Entwicklung, Analyse und Auswahl neuer Produktkonzepte
• Planung und Durchführung von Entwicklungstests mit dem lokalen Testteam
• Erstellung und Pflege der technischen Dokumentation
• Unterstützung der Industrialisierung für deren Beschaffung von Produktions- und Prüfgeräten
• Identifikation und Bewertung neuer Technologien und Methoden im jeweiligen Fachgebiet
• Durchführung und Unterstützung von Benchmarking-Aktivitäten für Wettbewerbsprodukte

Dein Profil

• Abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Maschinenbau oder eine Berufslehre mit mehrjähriger Erfahrung und entsprechender Weiterbildung (HF o.ä.)
• Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Entwicklung mechanischer Produkte (Kunststoffspritzguss- und Metallteile)
• Sicherer Umgang mit CAD- und PLM Systemen (CREO und Windchill von Vorteil)
• Vertrautheit mit internationalen Produktnormen wie UL, IEC etc.
• Erfahrung in der internationalen Teamarbeit (auch remote)
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift (beide Sprachen bevorzugt)
• Interkulturelle Kompetenz und Sensibilität im Umgang mit Menschen aus verschiedenen Regionen und Ländern
• Hohe Belastbarkeit
• Ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeit auf allen Ebenen
• Fähigkeit, zeitnah relevante Entscheidungen zu treffen
