ETH Zürich's Advanced Mechatronic Systems group seeks a Group Lead to drive research in integrated mechatronic systems, actuators, and electrical machines. The role combines research leadership with teaching, student supervision, and funding acquisition within D-ITET.

The ideal candidate has a PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering with a strong track record or potential in leading people, collaborations, and project execution.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering with a focus on mechatronics.
• Strong background in mechatronics, electromagnetic actuators, electrical machines, robotics and system integration.
• Demonstrated ability or strong potential for developing independent research directions.
• Experience in university teaching and mentoring students is advantageous.
• Track record or clear potential for funding acquisition and project execution.
• Experience or interest in leading people, fostering collaboration and growth.

Aufgaben

• Develop and lead independent research activity in advanced mechatronic systems.
• Strengthen competencies in mechatronics, actuators, motors, sensing and integration.
• Contribute to teaching through lectures and supervision of theses.
• Acquire and manage research funding from public and industrial sources.
• Recruit and supervise PhD students and researchers, building a sustainable group.
• Collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively in academic and industrial settings.
