Group Controller

The Group Controller will be responsible for all accounting needs, tax reporting, and financial reporting requirements for Egeria Group AG and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will support the Group CFO in overseeing all accounting matters, emphasizing financial reporting, integrating new technologies, finance transformation, liquidity management, controls, and accounting processes, net asset value calculations, risk management, and compliance monitoring.

Key responsibilities
  1. Manage daily operations and financial management of a Swiss holding company and foreign subsidiaries; support the CFO in overseeing all group investments.
  2. Liaise with finance teams across the group to ensure timely, accurate reporting and improve efficiency using modern technologies.
  3. Assist the CFO in enhancing accounting systems, financial controls, planning systems, and internal risk management assessments.
  4. Track investments, manage cash flow, monitor performance, and prepare financial statements in Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the US, including audit documentation.
  5. Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, WHT, CIT, Stamp Duty, FATCA, etc.), ensure compliance with tax rulings, coordinate with tax advisors, and reconcile tax assessments.
  6. Maintain accurate and complete master data within the group.
  7. Prepare periodic reports and asset valuations; support stakeholder reporting.
  8. Assess financial impacts of legal and tax documentation related to transactions.
  9. Ensure compliance with organizational regulations, corporate governance, policies, and applicable laws (AML, etc.).
  10. Process capital calls, prepare fund distributions, and support treasury and liquidity activities.
  11. Manage and develop finance team members and support CFO in various projects.
  12. Coordinate with the EGS manager on cost allocation and service improvements.
  13. Oversee financial systems to ensure they are fit for purpose at the group level.
  14. Handle highly sensitive and confidential information securely.
Key Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in accounting/finance, with 2-3 years as a controller/finance manager in investment management or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of tax, accounting, financial processes, and regulations for Swiss financial groups.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in German and English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • IT-savvy, experienced with modern accounting and portfolio management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Strong critical thinking and ownership of tasks.
  • Master's degree in accounting or finance; postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and specialists.
