Zusammenfassung

The World Health Organization in Geneva seeks a senior leader to guide vaccine policy development and ensure alignment with global health strategies. You will manage a small team, drive policy adoption, and liaise with UN partners and regional offices to support evidence-based immunization practices.

The role requires advanced degrees and 10+ years of international vaccine policy experience, with a track record in research, governance and donor reporting.

Qualifikationen

• Essential: Doctoral level in public health, medicine, vaccinology, immunology or related field.
• Desirable: Advanced training in epidemiology, vaccinology, immunology or related area.

Aufgaben

• Provides technical leadership and managerial support within the Department/Programme in vaccine and immunization policy, developing evidence-based WHO policy recommendations and supporting policy processes at regional and national levels.
• Develops and proposes technical health policies and strategies through collaboration with Regional and Country Offices; supports Regional Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (RITAGs) and National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs).
• Manages the programme area with a small technical team, monitoring workplans and financial resources, and ensuring alignment with the Organization's mandate.
• Leads research on best practices and disseminates information for capacity building.
• Monitors and reports on KPIs to optimize programme performance; acts as technical reference among peers and partners.
• Liaises with UN Agencies, donors and research institutions; maintains contact with partners such as Gavi.
• Represents the programme in meetings and fora to advocate for WHO vaccine policy and scientific credibility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
