Job summary

World Health Organization (WHO) invites students and recent graduates to apply for the 2026 Internship Programme. This paid international internship provides hands-on experience across WHO’s technical and administrative work in Geneva, regional offices, and country offices worldwide.

Interns benefit from a living allowance, medical and accident insurance, and mentoring from WHO experts, with placements in diverse fields such as Public Health, Nursing, IT, Policy, HR, and Administration.

Qualifications

• Be at least 20 years old at the time of application.
• Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate programme, or have graduated within the previous 18 months.
• Have completed at least three years of full-time university study before the internship begins (for undergraduate applicants).
• Be fluent in at least one working language of the WHO office where the internship will take place.
• Hold a valid passport from a WHO Member State.
• Not have previously participated in the WHO Internship Programme.
• Not be closely related to a WHO staff member.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical exposure by contributing to WHO programmes across headquarters, regional offices, and country offices.
• Engage in hands-on projects in one or more of the listed disciplines (public health, medicine, IT, policy, HR, etc.).
• Receive professional mentoring from WHO experts and participate in international teams.
