Zusammenfassung

SHL Medical is seeking a Global Environmental Manager to lead our environmental agenda across key sites worldwide, drive decarbonization, and embed sustainability into our business.

You will report to the Group Head of Sustainability and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our climate strategies and regulatory compliance on a global scale.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in environmental engineering, engineering, sustainability, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental roles, ideally local and global organizations.
• Experience in manufacturing with Scope 1 & 2, waste, emission reduction projects/initiatives in manufacturing sites.
• Deep technical expertise in greenhouse gas accounting and environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including experience engaging with senior executive leadership.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% internationally.
• Strong English language skills.

This role is open for both locations, either in our hub in Sweden or Switzerland.

We are now looking for a Global Environmental Manager to join our team. In this strategic and high-impact role, you will help shape and drive SHL Medical environmental agenda. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Sustainability, you will lead initiatives that accelerate our decarbonization path and contribute to the achievement of our broader sustainability goals.

We are seeking a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in climate science and environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record in strategic planning, operations, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, along with the drive to create meaningful, measurable change on a global scale.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of SHL Medical’s global environmental strategy ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching sustainability goals and long-term business objectives.
• Design and implement a comprehensive climate transition plan to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, in line with SHL Medical’s SBTi-approved targets.
• Develop and implement global environmental policies and processes that support continuous improvement of our sites globally and align with international standards (ISO 14001).
• Drive key initiatives in environmental compliance, pollution prevention, waste reduction, water stewardship, and biodiversity conservation across all facilities.
• Stay ahead of emerging climate and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, including those from SBTi, TCFD, and global regulatory bodies.
• Monitor and analyze environmental performance metrics, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and reporting.
• Oversee corporate carbon accounting to ensure accurate, transparent measurement and reporting of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions; support external disclosures such as CDP and sustainability reports.

Minimum requirements:

• University degree in environmental engineering, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Operational experience on scope 1&2, waste, emission reduction projects/initiatives in manufacturing sites
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental roles, ideally local and global organizations.
• Deep technical expertise in greenhouse gas accounting and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on, pragmatic approach and a solid operational background.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results with limited oversight.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including experience engaging with senior executive leadership.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% internationally.
• Strong English language skills
