Job summary

avec compétence GmbH is seeking an AI Data Scientist to design and operationalize machine learning and Generative AI solutions that support engineering product development and decision making.

You will design, validate and deploy ML/GenAI across the development lifecycle, build evaluation pipelines for LLM apps, retrieve data from toolchains, and ensure cybersecurity considerations are embedded. Fluency in English is required. The position offers hybrid work and mobility allowance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in data science, machine learning or AI engineering
• Good understanding of data engineering foundations including pipelines, APIs, databases and versioning
• Strong practical experience with programming languages and data science/ML ecosystems
• Understanding of software/firmware development lifecycles, DevSecOps and cybersecurity considerations
• Hands‑on exposure to Generative AI, LLM applications, prompt engineering and retrieval‑augmented generation
• Fluent in English

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate machine learning, GenAI and analytics solutions across the development lifecycle
• Support AI-assisted and agentic capabilities across requirements, coding, testing and vulnerability management
• Build prototypes and evaluation pipelines for LLM-based applications, RAG solutions and prediction models
• Acquire, clean and structure data from engineering toolchains, repositories and documentation
• Define evaluation approaches, performance metrics and validation methods for AI models
• Create reusable datasets, embeddings, feature stores, notebooks and pipelines
• Explore emerging AI and data science techniques and assess applicability for engineering use cases
