Job summary

Big Science Sweden is seeking a Full-Stack Software Developer to support Open Data and Open Science initiatives at CERN. You will help build services for open data and reproducible computational analyses, working with researchers and external partners.

Ideal applicants hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have up to two years since graduation, with enthusiasm for research software and containerized workflows.

Qualifications

• National of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
• By deadline, up to 2 years of professional experience since graduation; bachelor’s or master’s degree required; PhD not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing the REANA reproducible analysis platform to run containerised workflows.
• Work on the LHCb Ntupling service to enable researchers to request open data.
• Collaborate with LHC experimental physics teams on open data and reproducible research.
• Collaborate with external institutes and partners on open data and reproducible analysis infrastructures.

Are you passionate about software development and interested in supporting Open Data and Open Science in research? Join our team that is building services for open data and reproducible computational data analyses!

Your responsibilities

• Participate in the development of the REANA reproducible analysis platform allowing to run containerised declarative analysis workflows.
• Participate in the development of the LHCb Ntupling service allowing researchers to request custom open data from the LHCb experiment.
• Collaborate closely with LHC experimental physics teams working on open data and reproducible research.
• Collaborate with external institutes and partners working on open data, open science and reproducible analysis infrastructures.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

• You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State . Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, Croatian and Turkish nationals, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field and your highest educational qualification is either a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You must have a university degree and can’t hold a PhD.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
