Job summary

Mercor is seeking an Audio Engineer (Speech / TTS Audio Specialist) for French to edit and optimize voice data for AI training. This remote contract role focuses on delivering high‑quality recordings for ML pipelines.

Responsibilities include editing, silence trimming, breath reduction, de‑clicking, de‑essing, noise reduction, and QA for clipping, distortion and loudness. Requirements: native or near‑native French, ability to handle large audio datasets, and hands‑on experience with iZotope RX

Qualifications

• Native or near-native French speaker with strong listening intuition for French speech nuances.
• Experience editing speech or voice recordings.
• Strong understanding of speech audio quality standards.
• Hands-on experience with iZotope RX and Pro Tools.

Qualifications Must-Have

• Native or near-native French speaker with strong listening intuition for French speech nuances.
• Experience editing speech or voice recordings .
• Strong understanding of speech audio quality standards .
• Hands-on experience with tools like iZotope RX, Pro Tools .
• Ability to identify and fix artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects in audio.
• Experience working with high-volume audio datasets .

Preferred

• Experience working with TTS vendors or platforms .
• Prior involvement in speech ML, voice AI, or dataset creation/annotation workflows .
• Familiarity with audio QA pipelines .
• Experience directing or editing French voice talent recordings .
