Job summary

Sisk Group in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, seeks a German-speaking Foreman to join our Life Science team. The role reports to the Project Manager and collaborates with QS to manage on-site programs, delivery, and safety.

Responsibilities include coordinating trades, ensuring site security and compliance with HSE plans, and maintaining project documentation. A strong track record in construction management and German language skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmaceutical project experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of at least ten years within a construction management environment with a similar National/Regional Contractor, with a strong track record of high HSEQS standards.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Organised with good time management and capable of proactive planning.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trades on site and related codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor key stage programmes.
• Set up the site and maintain site security (site hutting, hoardings and signboards).
• Take possession of the site, plan and coordinate trades activities.
• Apply for temporary service connections.
• Interpret drawings and specifications and communicate directions to site personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure method statements and risk assessments are completed for high-risk activities.
• Request outstanding information from the professional team and confirm verbal instructions.
• Assist with approvals to progress the project with minimum risk (e.g. Hoarding Licence).
• Review buildability and identify construction methods with commercial or programme advantage.
• With the Environmental Co-ordinator implement environmental controls and HSSE objectives.
• Attend site meetings, subcontract and internal meetings; circulate notes and actions.

Overview

Opportunity for a German Speaking Foreman to join our Life Science team in the Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The Foreman is responsible to the Project Manager and works closely with the QS. They are responsible for the management of the on-site programme in respect of delivery, workmanship and safety. The Site Manager ensures that adequate and proper labour, plant, materials and sub-contractor's resources are available to meet the requirements of the contract.

  • With the Environmental Co-ordinator implement the environmental controls and work towards theobjectivesset out in the HSE plan (Civils)
  • Attend site meetings,subcontractand internal meetings -maintainand circulate notes and action points

Experience

• Pharmceutical project experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with colleagues, clients and third parties, in a warm and persuasive way both formally and informally and able to alter style and method to suit audience

• Proven track record of least ten years within a construction management environment with a similar National/Regional Contractor, with a strong track record of the high HSEQS standards

• Strong analytical skills

• Organised with good time management and capable of proactive planning

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all the trades required on site, the codes of practice relating to them and the requirements for them to be able to carry out required works

Qualifications

• Working towards an academic and or a professional industry related qualification

• CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, & S5 Q10 internal workshops

• First Aid at work Certificate

• Lifting Supervisor

• Driving Licence

• Degree or Diploma in a Construction related Subject is desirable
