Job summary

Axpo Group in Baden, Switzerland invites applications for a Trainee Trading Support program. The 18-month traineeship blends hands-on work across three teams in the Trading & Sales division, with a focus on energy market analysis and tool development.

Start 1 April 2027, with potential continued employment. You join a growing trainee community, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and gaining insights through internal learning platforms and events.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Economics completed within the last two years.
• Coding skills in Python and experience with data visualization (Power BI preferred).
• Technical understanding of the energy market.
• First working experience as an intern or working student.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Analytical mindset, curiosity and flexibility.
• Project management knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on diverse tasks in assignments and take responsibility from day one.
• Contribute innovative solutions and optimize workflows with cross-functional teams.
• Support traders by analyzing energy markets using statistical, algorithmic, and other technical tools to develop trading strategies and research developments.
• The first assignment will take place at the Gas Trading & Long term Gas Supply Desk: gas market analysis for Eastern and Western Europe, automating processes, and assisting in ad hoc projects.
• The second and third assignments are in the area of your interest.
