Zusammenfassung

ABB Smart Power seeks an embedded firmware engineer to develop and maintain C firmware for UPS power systems, using FreeRTOS on ARM Cortex and TI microcontrollers. You will collaborate across design, testing, and cybersecurity teams, implement automated tests with gTest, and ensure coding standards and security compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years in embedded development, strong C/C++, English and Italian proficiency, and agile experience. On-site position in Switzerland.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of embedded systems or firmware development experience.
• Strong embedded C/C++ skills; Python a plus.
• Knowledge of ARM Cortex, TI microcontrollers, FreeRTOS, and embedded protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, RS485, Modbus, CAN).
• Hands-on hardware debugging, firmware integration, Git, build systems, and structured software development practices.
• Experience with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, IEC 61850, and HMI panels/tools.
• Fluency in English and Italian; Agile experience is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develop, maintain, and debug embedded C firmware for UPS power supplies with FreeRTOS on ARM Cortex and TI MCUs.
• Build automated tests using gTest; ensure code quality and compliance with EU CRA and IEC 62443.
• Collaborate with design, testing, and cybersecurity teams; use Git, build systems, and CI/CD.
• Demonstrate ownership and clear communication within an Agile engineering environment.
