For our internationally operating gallery, we are looking for a highly skilled director to act as sales director and artist liaison for our Zurich location. This is an excellent position for a person sensitive to the needs of artists and collectors as a supportive, poised, and discreet professional looking for a long-term commitment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10 or more years in an Artist Liaison role at a major gallery of contemporary art
  • A degree in art history or equivalent, advanced knowledge of contemporary art required
  • German and English language fluency, spoken and written (additional languages – specifically French – a plus)
  • Existing developed relationships with collectors and curators
  • Superb communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Experience in developing and producing complex projects and exhibitions
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as a flexible team-player

Duties include:

  • Executing sales from gallery exhibitions and art fairs
  • Maintain the highest knowledge of the artworks and the artists represented by the gallery
  • Organize internal and external exhibitions, special installations, and art fairs
  • Support the artists and their studios; oversee artist commissions, production processes, etc.
  • Participating at exhibitions abroad for openings and special events nationally and internationally
  • Oversee related budgets, logistics, timetables, travel, and hotel arrangements as needed
  • Develop and maintain communications with galleries, institutions, and collectors
  • Develop and produce artist publications with publishing companies and artists
