When considering candidates, we look for scientific and business professionals who are highly motivated, collaborative, and most importantly, share our passionate interest in fighting cancer.

The Director, Communications, Europe leads the development and execution of an integrated regional communications strategy that advances BeOne Medicines’ strategic ambition, strengthens corporate reputation, and supports commercial priorities across Europe.

The role reports to the Head of Corporate Affairs, Europe, and works closely with the network of country communication teams across the region. He/she will serve as strategic communications advisor to the cross-functional teams to develop and deliver a coordinated communications strategy aligned with regional business priorities and Global Corporate Affairs objectives.

The role is accountable for leading integrated branded and unbranded communications across the product lifecycle (pre-launch, launch and post-launch), in close partnership with cross-functional teams, to strengthen confidence in our science and portfolio. The Director also advances corporate reputation work across Europe by driving executive visibility, thought leadership and strategic storytelling in collaboration with the Head of Corporate Affairs, Europe. In addition, the role partners with European Patient Advocacy and Policy teams to amplify shared priorities and reinforce BeOne’s credibility and impact within the broader healthcare ecosystem.

The role requires deep expertise in responsible communications practices — including media relations, digital engagement, and integrated channel strategy — to protect and strengthen the company’s long‑term reputation and strategic objectives.

As a key member of the European Corporate Affairs team, the role plays both a strategic and functional leadership role in strengthening BeOne’s presence, credibility, and long‑term reputation in Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional product and pipeline communications strategy in alignment with Global Brand Communications, including launch readiness, data milestone planning, and congress communications.

  • Partner with Patient Advocacy teams to elevate the patient voice and amplify collaborations with advocacy organizations.

  • Collaborate with Policy and Government Affairs teams to support policy narratives and communications that enable broader and faster access to innovative treatments.

  • Coordinate closely with country Corporate Affairs teams to ensure message consistency, provide tools and guidance, and strengthen affiliate capabilities.

  • Lead agency management and oversee high-quality development of communication materials (media content, narratives, Q&As, toolkits, presentations).

  • Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate communication effectiveness and continuously optimize impact.

Profile:

  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in communications/PR in life sciences.

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-market communications strategies at regional or international level.

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate business priorities into impactful communications and reputation initiatives.

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, multicultural environment and to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Strong relationship builder, capable of fostering trusted partnerships across functions (Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Policy, Patient Advocacy) and across country affiliates.

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize in dynamic, fast‑paced environments.

  • Proficiency in digital and modern communication tools; familiarity with AI‑enabled content development within company policies is an asset.

  • Role based in Switzerland (Basel); willingness to travel within Europe as required.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English required. Exceptional English writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

  • Strong understanding of the European pharmaceutical regulatory environment and key EU healthcare policy dynamics.

  • Proven capability to provide clear, compelling executive‑level presentations and strategic communications materials.

  • Strong strategic planning and project leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple high‑impact initiatives simultaneously.

  • Solid understanding of corporate branding, positioning, and integrated communications strategy.

  • Experience leveraging digital and social media channels within a regulated industry environment.

  • High level of adaptability and resilience, with the ability to perform effectively in dynamic and high‑pressure situations.
