PartnerRe Ltd. in Zurich is seeking a Senior Direct & Facultative Underwriter to join our downstream underwriting team. You will oversee facultative underwriting and marketing of a global downstream portfolio, ensuring effective risk assessment and broker engagement.

The role offers collaboration with an experienced team across functions, leading negotiations with international brokers and managing administrative underwriting duties while driving portfolio growth.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in direct & facultative underwriting within assigned lines of business and markets.
• Strong expertise in the corporate downstream insurance and facultative reinsurance landscape, with a deep understanding of market dynamics.
• Experience in property insurance is an asset.
• Thorough knowledge of insurance coverage structures and policy specifics.
• Solid grasp of actuarial pricing methodologies and the ability to engage in technical pricing discussions.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English (written and spoken); additional language skills are a plus.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively, develop tailored solutions, and build lasting relationships with brokers and clients.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work seamlessly across internal teams and with senior management.

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of direct & facultative submissions, including technical risk assessments, pricing evaluations, catastrophe exposure reviews, and detailed evaluation of slips, wordings, clauses, and reinsurance agreements.
• Engage effectively with our global network of brokers and insured clients to foster strong business relationships.
• Lead negotiations on terms and conditions with international brokers to secure optimal, solution-oriented outcomes.
• Collaborate actively with internal stakeholders including accounting, claims, wording specialists, catastrophe modelling, legal, compliance, and treaty underwriting teams.
• Manage administrative underwriting responsibilities such as reviewing and processing contractual documents, monitoring premium flows, and ensuring data quality.
• Perform regular portfolio reviews and in-depth analyses to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

Your Role
