Job summary

Hirslanden Salem Hospital in Bern seeks a qualified nurse or midwife to support the interdisciplinary maternity team. The position covers 80-100% full-time with a permanent contract.

You will provide postpartum care, support families, and assist in the neonatology unit for premature or ill newborns. The role also involves mentoring trainees and ensuring high nursing quality and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Completed training as a nurse (HF/FH) or midwife.
• Several years of experience in postpartum care and/or care of newborns.
• Enjoy holistic care as well as individual nursing and advice and are characterised by high flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and family-centred care for postpartum women and their newborns.
• Advise parents on newborn care and nutrition and strengthen the mother-father-child relationship.
• Care for premature and sick newborns in the neonatology unit from the 35th week of gestation and support gynaecology patients.
• Support apprentices and students in their training.
• Maintain high nursing quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

YOUR TASKS

• You are responsible for individual and family-centred care and support of postpartum women and their newborns
• You support and advise parents at the start of their family life, regarding nutrition and care of the newborns, and promote the mother-father-child relationship
• Care of premature and sick newborns from the 35th week of gestation in our small neonatology unit is also part of your duties, as well as holistic and individual care of patients with gynaecological and minor surgical procedures
• You also assist in supporting apprentices and students in their training
• High nursing quality, safety and customer satisfaction are important to us
