Zusammenfassung

A leading equipment manufacturing company in Switzerland seeks a Department Manager for Customer Projects GP to lead project execution for Grains and Pulses. The candidate will manage a team of approximately 12 employees, ensure seamless project execution, collaborate with various stakeholders, and drive the development of world-class Project Execution capabilities. Required skills include leadership experience, fluency in German and English, and experience in the food processing industry. International travel of approx. 10 - 20% may be required.

As a Department Manager Customer Projects GP, you are at the core of our business: executing projects for our customers. You will be a member of the Milling Solutions Project Execution Management, leading teams with project managers, project engineers and designers as well as a wide range of different stakeholders. It will be in your hands to develop the department and to deliver important projects within the negotiated framework and requirements, always keeping quality, customer relations as well as an optimal margin in sight.

As a Department Manager you will be responsible for the execution of customer projects and the management of all aspects of the appointed Project Execution group for Grains and Pulses, consisting of approx. 12 employees, define priorities, and nominate staff for projects and assignments.

This is where you'll excel
  • You ensure seamless project execution and close cooperation with internal departments and stakeholders (Automation, Shipping, Technology, Commercial Management, Sales, Customer Service, R&D, and Product Management)
  • You support the Project Execution Team and Project Managers in controlling schedules and costs, forecasting risks and opportunities, developing corrective action plans, and escalating issues as appropriate
  • You collaborate with the different engineering groups, Business Areas and international PE locations to allow for a proper workload balancing besides you provide training and development opportunities to build and maintain world‑class Project Execution capabilities
  • You monitor the progress of projects within the portfolio to ensure scope completeness, consistency, and technical integrity and maintain effective risk and opportunity management as well as a change control process
  • You drive the development and implementation of project management lessons learned and best practices across locations. Further you ensure that complaints are registered and sustainably resolved
  • You maintain regular contact with customers to develop solutions and support our global Sales and Service organizations during the sales and quotation phases
  • You collaborate on the further development of engineering platforms and standards, and you support and implement new structures and strategies
  • You actively participate in strategy development and implementation for the GP Business Unit, comprising the three segments: Oats, Maize, and Pulses
These are the skills you'll need
  • Technical degree from a university of applied sciences (or equivalent training) with further education in business administration and leadership
  • Leadership experience in matrix organisations
  • Experience in construction and plant engineering - ideally, experience in the food processing industry or specifically in the specialty milling sector
  • Proven skills in plant projects with EPCM character in an international environment with experience in contract and claim management
  • Strong planning, organizational and priority setting skills, with a proven ability to manage intercultural teams
  • Business fluent in German and English and very good communication skills at all levels (further language skills such as French, Spanish or Italian are beneficial)
  • Open to international travel of approx. 10 - 20%
