Google Zürich is seeking a Data Science PhD Intern for Summer 2027. The program targets penultimate/final-year PhD students in statistics, biostatistics, CS, math, or OR.

You will work on experimental design, causal inference, and advanced data analysis while located in Switzerland for 13 weeks. Responsibilities include researching Google’s business dynamics, building quantitative models, and exploring novel analytical methods.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in a full-time PhD program and in penultimate year.
• Experience with datasets using Python, R, SAS, MATLAB or similar.
• Experience with statistical data analysis methods (linear models, hypothesis testing, multilevel models, Bayesian methods).
• Preferred: causal inference methods.
• Preferred: publications in peer-reviewed venues.
• Must complete at least 13 weeks in Switzerland starting May–July 2027.

Aufgaben

• Provide research on topics including Google's business model and search techniques.
• Produce quantitative and qualitative modeling of business dynamics, user behavior, and more.
• Identify areas for further investigation and create innovative methods of analysis.
