Zusammenfassung

TGS International Group seeks a hands-on data centre technician for on-site support in Zurich. The role involves cabling installations, hardware installs, and daily data centre operations within a live environment.

Essentially, you will patch fibre/copper, rack and stack hardware, and provide remote hands as well as ticket-driven task delivery. On-call duties and occasional out-of-hours work are required.

Qualifikationen

• German language ability at B2 level is required.
• Experience in data centres or similar critical environments.
• Strong grounding in fibre and copper cabling.
• Testing experience with OTDR, light source and testers.
• Rack and stack / hardware install experience.
• Comfortable with ticketing systems and structured processes.
• Basic networking understanding (LAN/WAN) is a plus.

Aufgaben

ABOUT THE ROLE

This opportunity is with a well-established global technology and connectivity partner delivering infrastructure, cabling and hardware solutions across data centre and enterprise environments. They operate across multiple regions, supporting both hyperscale and enterprise clients, with a strong pipeline of projects and long-term contracts in place.

You will be joining a team focused on delivering high-quality on-site support across cabling infrastructure, hardware installs, and day-to-day data centre operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Cabling across fibre and copper including installs, terminations, testing and fault finding
• Patching and general connectivity work within live data centre environments
• Rack and stack of servers, switches and associated hardware
• Remote hands support and ticket-based task delivery
• Troubleshooting hardware and basic network issues
• Supporting moves, adds and changes (IMAC work)
• Maintaining documentation and supporting general site standards

WHAT YOU WILL NEED (ESSENTIAL)

• German language to B2 level
• Experience working within data centres or similar critical environments
• Strong grounding in fibre and copper cabling
• Testing experience (OTDR, light source and general testers)
• Rack and stack / hardware install experience
• Comfortable working from ticketing systems and structured processes
• Basic understanding of networking (patching, LAN/WAN environments)

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
• Exposure to structured cabling standards and best practice
• Previous remote hands or client-facing support experience

THE REALITY

• This is a hands-on role within a live data centre environment
• You will be balancing cabling, hardware installs and support work day-to-day
• There is an on-call element and some out-of-hours work required
