Job summary

Unit8 SA is seeking a Data & AI Engineer to join our teams in Lausanne or Zurich, Switzerland. You will work closely with engineers and data scientists to deliver data-driven applications using GenAI and modern data techniques.

The role involves collaboration across client projects, cloud and data engineering, and end-to-end data solutions. You should be a self-driven engineer with strong programming skills in Python/Java/Scala, cloud experience, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• MSc level in CS, ML, applied statistics, mathematics or equivalent work experience.
• Proficient software engineer with CS fundamentals and experience applying software engineering, ML, and statistics to business problems.
• Programming experience in Python, R, Scala or Java.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Pragmatic, proactive engineering contributor.

Responsibilities

• Work on diverse areas: cloud engineering, data engineering/ETL, ML and data science.
• Understand client challenges and design data-driven solutions.
• Evaluate and present results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to building end-to-end data systems at varying scales.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers and business stakeholders.
• Follow CI/CD, versioning and data-evolution best practices.
