Zusammenfassung

Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is seeking an Applied Physicist/Engineer to develop a cryogenic power supply for HTS magnets and to integrate it with the quench protection system. The role requires contributing to the integration into the cryostat and close collaboration with PSI and ETH Zürich teams.

You will work within the HTS4SRI project, bringing expertise in power electronics and cryogenic systems to a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment.

Qualifikationen

  • PhD in electrical engineering with focus on power electronics.
  • Experience in optimization, design, realization and characterization of power electronic converter systems.
  • Experience with high-current multiphase DC-DC converters, cryogenic systems or radiation-hardened electronics is a plus.
  • Communicative and team-oriented in an interdisciplinary research environment.
  • Proficiency in English; German is an asset.

Aufgaben

  • Development of a cryogenic power supply unit for HTS magnets.
  • Interdisciplinary conceptualization of the power supply integration with the magnet quench protection system.
  • Provide technical input for integration of the power supply into the cryostat.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams of the HTS4SRI project at PSI and ETH Zürich.
