Your tasks:
  • Acts as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the COO, supporting operational and organizational priorities.
  • Coordinates and drives key cross-functional projects and initiatives on behalf of the COO
  • Prepares, organizes, and follows up on operations meetings, steering committees, and leadership offsites.
  • Works out strategies and presentations with minimal direction based on the COO’s direction and information synthesized from meetings and discussions
  • Tracks progress on strategic objectives, KPIs, and operational targets; proactively identifies risks and opportunities.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration between the COO, executive leadership, and business units.
  • Leads or supports selected special projects, in areas such as operational excellence, process optimization, or organizational change.
  • Acts as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the COO.
  • Supports the COO’s preparation and input to executive and/or board meetings as needed
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
Your profile:
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or a related technical field
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, at least 5 years of which in operational excellence, process improvement, or manufacturing management, preferably in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in transformation projects with measurable success.
  • Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate others at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Experience in managing change in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Advanced skills in project management, digitalization, and technical systems (e.g., ERP, MES, automation)
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German or French is a strong asset
  • High resilience, hands‑on mentality, and strong decision‑making skills
