Liebherr Machines Bulle SA in Bulle, Switzerland seeks an experienced engineer to lead system-level control design for combustion engines. You will craft and validate model-based architectures using Matlab/Simulink, MBSE tools, and MiL simulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.

The role requires hands-on experience in engine control, multi-physics modeling, and engine calibration, plus willingness to travel occasionally and fluency in English.

Qualifikationen

• Engineering degree in automotive, powertrain, mechanical, mechatronics, electronics or similar.
• Solid experience in combustion engine control system development, including multi-physics modeling and engine calibration (performance and emissions).
• Proficient in Matlab/Simulink and embedded software engineering with MBSE and signal processing.
• Familiar with ALM/PLM and MBSE environments such as System Composer, Cameo, Rhapsody or similar.
• Analytical mindset, fast learner, agile methods, and cross-functional collaboration in engineering teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
• Fluent in English.

Aufgaben

• Own system-level control design, simulation, V&V and contribute to next-gen engine control architectures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, experts and customers.
• Design, implement and maintain model-based plant/system models and MiL simulation environments for testing and validation of control functions.
• Perform evidence-based trade-offs to evaluate and optimize technical solutions.
• Support application engineers during commissioning at test benches and in field applications.
• Define system-level control specifications including failure modes, safety and cybersecurity considerations.
• Analyze and document dynamic behavior and interactions of engine control system elements.
• Design and maintain engine control architectures (hardware, software, services) focusing on performance, quality and reusability.
• Coordinate with project management and development teams to integrate new functions and improve MBSE methods and toolchains.

Your Responsibilities

• You take ownership of system-level control design (design, simulation, V&V, …), contributing to next-generation engine control architectures and digital engineering capabilities


• You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, experts, and customers


• You design, implement, and maintain model-based plant/system models and Model‑in‑the‑Loop (MiL) simulation environments to systematically test, analyze, and validate control functions


• You perform evidence-based trade‑off analyses to evaluate and optimize alternative technical solutions


• You support application engineers during commissioning activities at test benches and in real-world field applications


• You define system-level control specifications, including failure mode analysis, safety and cybersecurity considerations


• You analyze, evaluate and document the dynamic behavior and interactions of engine control system elements


• You design, develop and maintain engine control system architectures (hardware, software and services) with a focus on performance, quality and reusability


• You coordinate with project management and software/hardware development teams to integrate new functions and components, and continuously improve model-based systems engineering methods, processes and toolchains

Your Profile

• You have successfully completed engineering studies in the field of automotive, powertrain, mechanical, mechatronics, electronics engineering, or similar


• You have solid experience in combustion engine control system development, including multi‑physics modeling, and ideally engine calibration (performance and emissions)


• You are proficient in Matlab/Simulink and embedded software engineering, with strong skills in model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and signal processing


• You are familiar with ALM/PLM and requirements authoring tools, and MBSE environments such as System Composer, Cameo, Rhapsody or similar


• You bring an analytical mindset, high learnability, agile methods, and collaborate effectively in cross‑functional engineering teams


• You are willing and able to occasionally travel


• You are fluent in English
