Job summary

Darwin Recruitment seeks an Infrastructure & Cloud Security Lead to own a growing AWS cloud platform, handling core infrastructure, deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability. You will manage cloud security, access control, and networking, while administering enterprise SaaS tooling and controlling costs as usage expands.

The role requires hands-on AWS, production Kubernetes (EKS), and IaC using Terraform, with strong emphasis on security and cost discipline.

Qualifications

• Senior SRE or Cloud Engineer with hands-on AWS experience.
• Experience running Kubernetes in production (preferably EKS).
• IaC using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• AWS security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management, secure networking.
• Hands-on with API gateways.
• Experience administering enterprise SaaS tools (Google Workspace, HR platforms).
• FinOps and cloud cost management.
• Ability to work overlapping CET afternoons with US teams.
• Nice to have: NIS2 compliance knowledge; exposure to Langfuse and LiteLLM tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own growing AWS cloud platform, core infrastructure, deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack.
• Oversee cloud security, access control, and networking in production.
• Administer enterprise SaaS tooling integrations and cost management as service volumes scale.
• Collaborate with US-based colleagues during CET overlap.
• Help implement compliance-related controls where applicable.

Infrastructure & Cloud Security Lead (DRWN)

Job title – Infrastructure & Cloud Security Lead

Client Location – Remote, Europe (team based in US time zones)

Remote work offering – 100%

Client Industry – Technology (SaaS / AI)

Contract Length – 3 months (extendable), ongoing part-time engagement

Contract type – Freelance, part-time (approx. 20 hours per week, with overlap into CET afternoons)

Project focus

You will take ownership of a growing AWS cloud platform, looking after the core infrastructure, developer deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines and observability stack. Alongside this you will be responsible for cloud security, access control and networking, administration of enterprise SaaS tooling, and keeping cloud spend under control as service volume scales.

Key skills and Experience required

• Senior SRE or Cloud Engineer background with strong hands-on AWS experience
• Running Kubernetes in production, ideally on EKS
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog
• AWS security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management and secure networking
• Hands-on experience with API gateways
